Small Groups
We believe God intended life to be lived in community, as opposed to isolated. We cannot all be together all the time, but we can get together in small groups on occasion. We like to think the church should not be the initiator of all things pertaining to the Christian life, so we encourage people to let things happen - let life be led by the Spirit. While our worship services are great for worship and hearing the Word of God, small groups is where a life of faith is lived out. It’s where we build close relationships, bear one another’s burdens, and wrestle with our fears, doubts and what it means to follow Jesus in our daily lives. So make time for other people, whether it is over a bite to eat, or just getting together as friends. It is in those contexts that people open up and the Spirit produces His life among us in practical ways.
Children’s Ministry
Jesus said "Let the little children come to me." One of New River Church’s primary goals is to lead children to Jesus. Our children's ministry is a fun, up-beat time that includes music, games, a bible lesson and a craft. It’s for kids 3 years old through 5th grade and takes place during our Sunday morning service adult teaching time.
Youth
We believe youth are not just the church of tomorrow, but the church of today! Since we only meet Sunday mornings in a rented building, we often have teens participate in the adult service. Pastor Dale's teaching is relevant to life at all levels and young people are ministered to from God's Word just like the adults. Some are also involved it the production, set-up and take down of the equipment that makes church work.
Missions
New River Church has chosen to be involved in the mission of Operation Christmas Child, an arm of Samaritan's Purse headed by Franklin Graham. We have sponsored this ministry for many years and last year we filled and shipped 503 shoe boxes and paid the $9/box shipping fee as well. You are invited to join us in this awesome task of reaching the children of the world with the Gospel in this practical way. Although we know there are many worthy projects, this is the only missions effort we support.
